The Way of the Wizards Versus the Way of the Wise Man
Format: DVD
"We're off to see the Wizard, the wonderful wizard
of..." The wizards are everywhere in our culture. They
promise that if we follow their yellow brick roads, we can have
it all--a heart, a brain, courage--they even tell us we can find
our way home. The wizards include evolutionists, new agers,
atheists, and sincere followers of false religions.
The Wiseman, on the other hand, tells us that there is
"a way which seems right unto a man, but the end is the way
of death" (Proverbs 14:12). He tells us that we are
"to be careful how we walk, not as unwise but as wise men,
making the most of our time, because the days are evil"
(Ephesians 5:15).
Learn to recognize the wizards in our culture and the false
gifts they offer to those whom they seduce into following their
paths. Bill Jack contrasts the ways of the wizards with the way
of the Wiseman by examining the characters in the Wizard of Oz.
The Scarecrow, Cowardly Lion, Tinman and Dorothy each represent
one of the ways we are to love God--with all our heart, soul,
strength and mind. The wizard, on the other hand, offers each of
the characters false gifts and embodies every quality--every
characteristic--of every wizard in our culture.
Take a walk on the "wise" side and discover how to
listen with discernment. Learn to destoy secular arguments
"raised up agains the knowledge of God" (II
Corinthians 10:5).
"The Ways of the Wizards..." is a valuable resource
for Sunday school teachers, youth pastors, Christian school
educators and home school parents who want to train their
students in a Christian Worldview.
